“20th Century Woman” opens the theme of invisible everydayness—processes that unfold beyond our attention, yet form the foundation of how society functions. It reflects an archetype of repetitive activity that is never completed, only returns, and is often overlooked. The photograph is part of the Sweet Homeseries, in which Jan Škop examines the domestic space as a site where safety disintegrates under the pressure of unseen forces.
The work reflects historically rooted roles of women, their labor, and their position within everyday reality—one that evolves only slowly in a globalized world, despite being increasingly discussed. The photograph was recognized in the BIFA 2021 and ND Awards 2021 competitions and has been exhibited as part of numerous exhibitions in the Czech Republic and internationally.
The prints are produced on archival, 100% cotton papers of the highest quality (Hahnemühle Photo Rag®), using pigment-based inks that meet museum standards. These materials ensure long-term stability, color fidelity, and depth of image, with a lifespan exceeding 100 years under proper conditions.
Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and is hand-signed, numbered, titled, and dated on the reverse. A white border is included with each print to allow for professional framing.
This photograph is available as a limited edition fine art print in several sizes and editions:
